The 737-800 has a range of approximately 5,765 km, suitable for flights up to 5-6 hours. It handles European intra-continental routes, transatlantic hops to the Canaries, and busy domestic corridors in the US, China, and India.

Exit rows (typically rows 16-17) offer the most legroom. Seats in rows 1-5 are closest to the front, quietest, and allow fastest exit. Window seats in rows 10-18 over the wing offer the smoothest turbulence experience. Avoid rows 30-34 near the rear — louder and seats may not recline.

The 737-800 is moderately noisy by modern standards. The CFM56-7B engines are effective but louder than the new-generation engines on the A320neo or 737 MAX. Front seats are noticeably quieter than rear seats. Overall, noise levels are typical for a short-haul jet.

The 737-800 is an excellent aircraft for nervous flyers. It is extremely reliable, has been flying for over 25 years, and its familiarity means it is very well understood by pilots and maintenance crews. Sitting over the wing gives the most stable experience in turbulence.

The 737-800 is adequate for 4-hour flights, though it's not the most spacious aircraft. Budget airline configurations with tight seat pitch can become uncomfortable on longer flights. Choosing an exit row or paying for extra legroom seats makes a significant difference.
